Ashley Westwood is expected to return to the Crewe squad ahead of the visit of high-flying Notts County.

The midfielder missed last weekend`s draw with Torquay due to an ear infection but has resumed training.

Byron Moore suffered ankle ligament damage in that game and will be out for several weeks. However, boss Dario Gradi expects the winger to feature again before the end of the season.

Moore`s absence could offer Luke Murphy an opportunity on the right-hand side of midfield.

Gradi has revealed that on-loan Bolton defender Chris Stokes will be given an extended run in the team after making his senior debut at Torquay, so Matt Tootle will remain on the bench.

Calvin Zola`s fitness remains in question after the 16-goal striker struggled during his long-awaited comeback from a hamstring injury at Plainmoor.

Notts County will be without leading scorer Lee Hughes when they travel to Crewe.

The 26-goal striker collected his 10th yellow card of the season during the home draw with automatic promotion rivals Bournemouth on Monday night and begins a two-match suspension. He will also miss next week`s trip to Bradford.

Boss Steve Cotterill will choose from Ade Akinbiyi, Delroy Facey and Karl Hawley to replace Hughes.

Hawley was on the bench against Bournemouth but he is the least likely option as he has yet to play this month because of a hamstring injury.

Neal Bishop was forced off against the Cherries with an ankle injury and the midfielder is a doubt. Jamie Clapham and Matt Hamshaw will be hoping for a recall.
