Boxing great George Foreman has expressed huge admiration for British heavyweight hero Anthony Joshua but hilariously dismissed the claims of Tyson Fury with one knockout comment.

Foreman now 68 blazed a path of concussive destruction to claiming the heavyweight crown in the 70's before remarkably returning to the ring in his later years and becoming a champion once more at the ripe old age of 45.

He is a man with a wealth of experience in the game and he has been extremely impressed by what he has seen of AJ and like most boxing fans, is already salivating over the prospect of a heavyweight clash of the titans between the unbeaten knockout specialists and reigning champs Joshua and the American Deontay Wilder.

"I think he’s a legitimate heavyweight champion. He’s on the top of the list as far as one to beat," he told The Sun.

"One day when they put together the Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder fight, it would probably be one of the greatest heavyweight fights in boxing in the modern day.

"Anthony Joshua is something special.

"What Anthony Joshua has is what every group of fighters should - he is conditioned.

"This guy works out, gets in the ring, gets knocked down in the 11th-round but he’s got legs to get up and fight and even earn a knockout like he did against Klitschko.

"He has the condition and the will to win. He could’ve existed in any era.

Huge praise indeed but what did Foreman think about Tyson Fury who himself beat Klitschko to become world champion over two years ago?

Well, not a lot it seems as the American claimed to be totally unaware of the existence of the Gypsy King! When asked for his opinion on a possible clash between Joshua and the controversial ex-champ, Foreman appeared somewhat bemused.

"Sorry. I don’t know anything about that nor the fighter"

Fury's ego has probably never received such a swift and stinging blow!
