Barnet halted a poor run of results with a 2-1 victory over a Darlington side who left themselves too much to do after the break.

The Bees, without a win in four league games, took the lead in the 22nd minute when Darlington failed to clear their lines from a corner and Dave Livermore had time to volley into the roof of the net from inside the box.

Darlington broke down the right in the 32nd minute through Ross Chisholm as they looked to get back into the game. A poor ball into the middle saw Darlington's attack break down and Barnet broke quickly upfield.

Home goalkeeper Shane Redmond was left stranded as Albert Adomah quickly turned and fired into the net with a rasping drive from the edge of the area.

Darlington were handed a lifeline in the 57th minute when Gary Breen turned a low cross from Chris Moore into his own net at the near post. Clovis Kamdjo then cleared a Josh Gray effort off his own line in the 61st minute as Darlington looked for an equaliser.

Tadhg Purcell also headed wide for Darlington in the dying seconds.
