This week on SmackDown Live, Daniel Bryan opened up the show with a bang to make sure it got off to a good start by announcing a United States Championship tournament. He also provided fans with a special moment after the show went off the air as well.

The SmackDown general manager kicked off the show with the announcement of a United States title tournament, as it was needed after what appeared to be Dolph Ziggler's voluntary relinquishing the title last week.

Not long afterward, Bryan announced a triple threat number one contender's match between Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin, Rusev and Aiden English, and The New Day to decide who would go on to face The Usos for the Tag Team titles. However, this wasn't the last bit of magic he would provide to fans on the night.

After SmackDown Live and 205 Live had gone off the air, fans inside the Allstate Arena in Chicago on Tuesday night were treated to a dark match of AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Jinder Mahal with the SmackDown general manager as a special guest referee.

In the midst of action outside the ring between Orton, Nakamura, Styles, Owens, and Mahal, Bryan began running the ropes to the cheers of the crowd before Zayn joined in as well going the other direction.

As you can see in the video below, the two then spun around in the middle of the ring before Zayn was released into an RKO by a returning Orton, then Nakamura entered the ring once more to deliver a Kinshasa to Zayn for the pinfall victory to send the crowd home happy.

The reason why the crowd got so excited by Bryan simply running the ropes was due to the fact that this was probably one of the first times which The King of Beards has done such a thing in front of a live WWE crowd since his retirement from in-ring work with the company over a year ago.

Hopefully, this is a sign of more in-ring work by Bryan in the months to come!
