The Golden State Warriors have received a major injury boost with the news that superstar Stephen Curry should make a return to the court on Saturday.

The two-time MVP has been missing for several weeks with an ankle injury but has taken part in practice sessions with the team over the last few days and has been scheduled for a return against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Dubs have done well without their point guard, losing just once. Kevin Durant has taken on much of the load in his absence and kept the team rolling.

But Curry's return will be welcomed as he's an integral part of the Warriors lineup and makes them even more formidable.

There's no doubting his importance to the franchise as he's the leader for them both on and off the floor.

Steve Kerr has coached the four-time All-Star for more than three years but continues to speak about him in glowing terms and recently reiterated his importance to the organization.

In an interview with Melissa Rohlin of The Mercury News, Kerr compared Steph's impact on the Warriors to that of one of his former legendary teammates.

"It reminds me of playing with Tim Duncan in San Antonio where his personality and the force of his humility and talent, which is a rare combination, but the force of that combination is just tone-setting for almost two decades in San Antonio. Steph is doing the same thing.”

Even after his meteoric rise over the last four years, his humbleness hasn't disappeared and he's become a perfect role model and ambassador for both the Oakland-based outfit and the NBA as a whole.

In that sense, he can definitely be compared to Duncan who shared many of the same traits and also represented just one team throughout his illustrious career.

Kerr also credits his three-point marksman for helping to create an identity within the team that has spread throughout the entire roster and allowed them to be successful.

"Steph sets the whole tone for who we are and our identity as a franchise and a team," he said. "We talk about joy all the time. Nobody plays with more joy than Steph Curry.

"The fact that he’s so unselfish both as a player and a human being. He’s so giving. When your best player has those attributes, it’s amazing with the tone it sets.”

The 29-year-old has been responsible for leading the Warriors to two championship wins in the last three years and they are primed to add more in the years to come.
