Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric will hold talks with Nigel Pearson's representatives as the club attempt to tie the manager down to a longer deal.
Pearson, who has a rolling contract at the Walkers Stadium, has already guided the Foxes into the Championship play-off places just a year after their promotion from League One.
He told the Leicester Mercury: "My representatives will be talking to the chairman and it will depend on how those talks go. I am enjoying myself here. It is a good club and we have got potential and there is something to build on."
He added: "What is the point about talking about speculation? That is something I am not interested in. There are a number of criteria but I think they are best kept in-house."
