The Houston Rockets saw their losing streak extend to four games on Thursday night in Boston against the Celtics, but this loss was particularly painful. That's because the Rockets imploded late in the fourth quarter, with star point guard James Harden picking up two charging fouls in the last few seconds of the game to seal a 99-98 Celtics victory. After the game, Harden was understandably frustrated, lashing out at the way the game was officiated. As you can see in the video below, Harden said it's ridiculous that there were only two officials working the game, saying there were missed calls that affected the outcome of the game:

“First of all, I wonder how you only have two officials on a national TV game," he said. "That’s the first question. But, a lot of grabbing, a lot of holding. How else am I supposed to get open? The guy has two arms wrapped around my whole body.

"You can’t have two officials in a professional game. There were a lot of no-calls that needed to be called because that changes the dynamic of the game. It’s a professional game, national TV. It can’t happen.”

It did seem like Harden was targeted by calls that don't normally get made, but he also did push off on Marcus Smart both times, forcing the officials to do something.

To be fair to the NBA, there were only two officials working because one ref was forced to miss the game with a sore back. Therefore, this is likely to be a one-time occurrence for the Rockets, but Harden clearly thinks the damage was done.

After the game, the Celtics were quick to praise Smart, with Al Horford saying Smart is one of the emotional leaders of the team (via ESPN.com):

"It just shows the value of Marcus Smart to our group and what he does for our team. It all started with him in the second half," Horford said. "It was just a domino effect. That's how special he is. And when he plays at that level we're just a different team."

The win was big for the Celtics, who have had struggles of their own lately, but have now bounced back to win two straight games following a Christmas Day loss to the Washington Wizards.

Now, they enter a home stretch, with three games against the Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves coming up. The Rockets, on the other hand, will need to regroup and try to get back in the win column against the Wizards on Friday night.
