Jose Mourinho looks at the end of his tether after a miserable December has seen his Manchester United side go from title contenders to third place.Despite an impressive away win over Arsenal, United would fall at home to their opulent neighbours, Manchester City, opening up a sizable gap between the rivals that has now become 14 points. They would also exit the Carabao Cup at the hands of Championship side Bristol City with a strong side and are currently on a three-game drawing streak with the likes of Leicester, Burnley and Southampton holding the Red Devils. The 0-0 stalemate with Southampton on Saturday may have been the most frustrating of all the draws, especially when you consider the players they may lose as a result.Romelu Lukaku exited the game early in the first half after suffering a blow to the back of his head and although the injury is not as bad as it looked, he's expected to miss at least a couple of games.Another player almost certain to miss a few games is Ashely Young following his altercation with Dusan Tadic. The former Watford and Aston Villa winger turned Red Devils full-back was caught by the Sky cameras delivering a swift elbow before a Southampton corner. However, some keen viewers on Reddit have spotted what Young was doing prior to his violent act; he was waiting for the referee to look away.

Some may call it smart, some may call it sneaky, but either way, he has to know by now that playing a game on live TV, not much goes unnoticed!

The 32-year-old had been enjoying a rejuvenation of sorts for the Red Devils this season and he has become one of Mourinho's first-choice full-backs.

His good form earned him his first call-up to the England squad in four years back in November and he has to be considered an outside bet to make the plane for Russia next summer.

Still, for the time being, Young looks set to be banned for three games if and when the FA pick up on his clash with Tadic.
