Safe to say Philippe Coutinho has surprised - or rather infuriated - everyone with his recent behaviour at Liverpool amidst interest from Barcelona.Put simply, he's reportedly refusing to play for the Reds and is desperate to at least have an agreement in place to join Barca in the summer.Jurgen Klopp doesn't want to lose him half way through the season, of course, but even the German must be getting annoyed with Coutinho's antics.Liverpool fans had hoped it wouldn't come to this, but unfortunately it has, which Jamie Carragher said would never happen last summer."He hasn't come out with anything publicly," said Carragher last August. "Philippe Coutinho is not that type of lad."He's a very quiet lad and I wouldn't expect a transfer request to come in from him anytime soon. I see Coutinho at Liverpool for another 12 months."I don't see Barcelona going away. And obviously, Coutinho is thinking they hopefully won't go away."How wrong Carragher proved to be - except that Barcelona's interest hasn't wavered.Coutinho submitted a transfer request last summer and refused to play for Liverpool, but much to his frustration, a fee was never agreed with Barcelona. But now the Blaugrana are due to return with an improved bid in the region of £130 million, prompting Carragher to give his take on the whole situation.According to the former centre-back, Liverpool should agree a "big" fee for Coutinho in January and allow him to join Barcelona at the end of the season.Carragher explains that it makes sense for both Coutinho - who wouldn't be able to play in the Champions League for Barcelona anyway - and Liverpool given their season ambitions.

CARRAGHER HAS NAILED IT

"Best thing @LFC is agree the BIG fee for Coutinho to go in the summer like we've done with Keita, not now," wrote Carragher.

"What do the club gain by doing it now? Top 4 & CL progression seriously risked if they sell in Jan & difficult to replace him now. If he goes on strike he damages himself."

Spot on - and Liverpool fans completely agree. Here's how they've been reacting to Carragher's expert analysis on Coutinho's transfer saga.

LIVERPOOL FANS REACT

Coutinho would be wise to listen to Carragher, otherwise he risks completely alienating himself at Liverpool for the rest of the season.
