Reading will be without midfielder Jay Tabb when West Brom make their second visit to the Madejski Stadium this season.

Tabb left the field on a stretcher in the second-half of the 2-1 win at Leicester on Wednesday and is beginning a lay-off after spraining his ankle.

His place in midfield alongside Brian Howard will go to either Brynjar Gunnarsson or Jem Karacan, who returned from a hand injury to be an unused substitute at the Walkers Stadium.

Captain Ivar Ingimarsson will also be missing as he continues to nurse a hamstring injury sustained at Middlesbrough last Saturday, so on-loan Blackburn man Zurab Khizanishvili will continue.

Ingimarsson has been booked in for surgery on Saturday and will not play again this season.

Kalifa Cisse (thigh) and long-term absentees Chris Armstrong and Noel Hunt (both knee) remain sidelined as Brian McDermott's in-form side look for a 10th win in 12 league games.

Second-placed West Brom will be without Chris Brunt for the clash while fellow midfielder Robert Koren is a doubt.

Northern Ireland international Brunt was forced off in the second half of Wednesday`s 1-0 victory over Coventry with an ankle injury and he has failed to shake it off in time for the trip to the Madejski Stadium.

Koren also sustained a calf problem against the Sky Blues and could join Brunt, Roman Bednar (thigh), Marek Cech (groin) and Gonzalo Jara (broken metatarsal) on the sidelines.

However, apart from Jara who is likely to miss the rest of the season, Albion`s treatment room is expected to empty out for the Easter period.

But there is good news for Roberto Di Matteo as defensive lynchpin Jonas Olsson has a chance of making a return against the Royals having missed the last two games due to a calf problem.M
