So, after all the shenanigans surrounding his failed medial on transfer deadline day, Ross Barkley has finally completed his move from Everton to Chelsea.Barkley hasn’t played since that day, suffering from a hamstring injury meaning Everton have paid out £20 million in wages while he was in the treatment room. And many eyebrows were raised when it was confirmed that the Toffees only received £15 million for the 24-year-old.While he hasn’t played since May, Barkley has shown glimpses of having incredible potential and could yet fulfil that when he gets back to full fitness. And given the crazy transfer market - where the likes of Virgil van Dijk are going for £75 million - football fans are shocked at how cheap Barkley has gone for.

PHIL NEVILLE'S TWEET

And the includes his former teammate, Phil Neville.

Immediately after the move was confirmed, Neville took to Twitter to write: “£15m for Ross Barkley is the snip of the century!!!”

Barkley’s transfer could prove to be a bargain but ‘snip of the century!?’

We don’t think so…

And there are plenty of football fans that were questioning Neville’s logic.

They pointed out several other ‘bargains’ such as Dele Alli signing for Tottenham for just £5 million, the £60,000 Everton signed Seamus Coleman for or the £400,000 it cost Leicester to buy Riyad Mahrez.

Basically, there were plenty of people that disagreed with Neville.

FOOTBALL FANS DISAGREE

Take a look at the reaction:

Neville should probably think before he tweets next time.

Either way, Barkley is delighted to finally make his move to Stamford Bridge as he hopes to kickstart his career.

“I’m overwhelmed, I'm looking forward to it and I'm really excited to get started,” he said after his signing was confirmed.

“To be given a fresh start at a new club like Chelsea, it's unbelievable for me. I'm looking forward to continuing where I left off at the end of last season and hoping to improve and add more goals to my game.”
