The January transfer is certainly in full swing, with Chelsea completing the second high-profile Premier League deal of the winter. After a summer saga, Everton's Ross Barkley finally sealed a £15m switch to Stamford Bridge after bailing out of a £35m move a short while ago.The Englishman said he didn't feel the move was right at the time and he has been out for the entirety of the season so far with a serious hamstring injury. But, he is said to be fully fit now after completing his move, with Chelsea picking up an absolute steal in the current market. All seems a bit controversial doesn't it? Well, a lot of people are turning to that theory. One of them is Liverpool city's mayor, Joe Anderson, who has posted a very damning tweet on his official account.Safe to say, some powerful people are livid with this Barkley deal.

TWITTER REACTS

It's impossible to disagree and it does seem like the Premier League and the FA have some explaining to do.

Sam Allardyce previously stated that nothing had changed with the situation surrounding Barkley since his arrival, so something certainly smells fishy.

The Everton boss has also said that Barkley may not be the only high-profile departure of the summer, with Kevin Mirallas a potential exit.

ALLARDYCE ON EVERTON'S JANUARY

Allardyce said on the Belgian's future: "It depends on many factors. It depends on whether Kevin wants to go or does he fancy the club that comes in for him and do we agree with the fee that is being offered.

"That transfer may well occur, as with many players in January.

"You never say never to what goes on in the January window.

"It is the hardest window to work in, but we are trying to cure one of the areas where we feel we have a problem.

"There have been no bids for Sandro at this moment in time.

"There will be no loans as far as my recommendation would be but I don't make the final decision.

"If anybody is going to leave it would have to be the right fee so we could use that money elsewhere to strengthen the squad."
