David Dunn's first-half penalty earned Blackburn a 1-0 win and the local bragging rights and increased Burnley's relegation fears in a controversial derby at Turf Moor.

Dunn converted a 20th-minute spot-kick after Clarets goalkeeper Brian Jensen was adjudged to have tripped Martin Olsson, although replays suggested Olsson was already going to ground before any contact was made.

Referee Mike Dean then failed to spot an obvious handball by Rovers goalkeeper Jason Brown as Burnley's 31-year wait for a win over their neighbours continued.
