Virgil van Dijk won’t forget his Liverpool debut in a hurry.A late winner against Everton at the Kop End in the FA Cup.It doesn’t get much better than that. The £75 million defender sent Anfield crazy after capitalising on Jordan Pickford’s hesitation from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s corner. But not everyone was getting excited at the world’s most expensive defender scoring the winner in a Merseyside derby. That’s because Martin Tyler was commentating on the match and he didn’t quite do the goal justice.Tyler is renowned for his incredible commentating for massive moments with his ‘Aguerooooooo’ going down in history when Manchester City won the league. While Van Dijk’s goal didn’t quite win the Premier League title like Aguero’s did, you’d think he would sound a little bit more excited.

Oh dear.

WHEN MARTIAL SCORED ON HIS DEBUT

Of course, many Liverpool fans will point to when Anthony Martial scored on his debut against them back in 2015.

Martial had just signed for Manchester United for £36 million and put them 3-1 up against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

Tyler’s reaction?

Well, just check it out:

Notice the difference?

Yeah, you can’t really blame the Liverpool fans for thinking Tyler’s reaction was a little bit underwhelming.

VAN DIJK'S DREAM CAME TRUE

Either way, Van Dijk won’t care how Tyler described his goal because nothing can take away what happened on his debut.

"What a night! The win was fully deserved, obviously," Van Dijk said on BBC after the match.

"It was amazing to be out there and playing with these guys. The goal was very special for me and my family.

"Playing at Anfield for Liverpool is a dream for every player I think. To score a goal is even more special.”
