Diego Costa’s second debut for Atletico Madrid sure was eventful. He came on as a substitute in the Copa del Rey against Lleida in the 64th minute and had scored within five minutes of his arrival. He then got injured and got into an argument. All this before the clock had reached 72 minutes.Costa gonna Costa. And, remarkably, that had nothing compared to today’s events, when the former Chelsea forward was named in the starting line-up against Getafe.Costa, incredibly, wasn’t one of the seven players to receive a yellow card in the first half.Clearly, the Spain international felt left out, for he managed to pick up two yellows in the space of six second-half minutes and was sent off.Costa. Gonna. Costa. His eventful afternoon began when he was shown a yellow card for a stray elbow. But Costa put that behind him to make it 2-0 to Atleti, tapping home from close range following good work on the right flank from Sime Vrsaljko.Costa proceeded to charge into the crowd as he celebrated his second goal in four days and was instantly shown a second yellow card.

You only need to see the look on Costa’s face when the referee produced a red card to realise how astounded he was.

Who else is delighted that Costa is back? There are few more entertaining players in football.

What Griezmann's brother wrote on Twitter

Incredibly, it’s just the second time the striker has been dismissed in a league match in his career.

And Antoine Griezmann’s brother, Theo, still felt compelled to praise Costa after his latest moment.

“Diego Costa incredible player 😍,” Theo wrote on Twitter.

That's one word to describe him. 'Crazy' is another.

How Simeone reacted

His manager, Diego Simeone, was very honest after watching Costa’s sending off.

“If the rule is like that, the yellow is deserved. Nothing else to say,” the Argentinian said, per ESPN’s Dermot Corrigan.

“He transmits fear.”

Well, that much is true.

The forward, whose falling out with Antonio Conte in west London sparked the beginning of the end for him at Chelsea, now faces at least a one-match ban, so he will miss next week’s return fixture against Lleida in the cup.
