Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo was between the sticks for Manchester City's FA Cup third round tie with Burnley. The 34-year-old was signed by Pep Guardiola from Barcelona in 2016 to replace Joe Hart - but endured a torrid debut season in the Premier League.City splashed the cash on Ederson over the summer and the Brazilian stopper has barely put a foot wrong since moving to Manchester. The former Benfica goalkeeper has quickly earned a reputation as one of the best ball-playing goalkeepers in the world under Guardiola's auspices."As a foreign player when you come here, it can seem a little bit nervous sometimes because of the way we play but the quality we have helps us a lot in the way we start the build-up and it gives us an advantage later on," Ederson said."For me with all the defenders we are playing really calm because we all know our skills of all the team."Ederson was sat on the bench as Burnley took a shock lead at the Etihad through Ashley Barnes, via an awful John Stones mistake.

Bravo's embarrassing moment

Bravo appears to be the City goalkeeper for the domestic cup competitions this season - but Guardiola may have been questioning his decision when the veteran Chilean attempted to emulate Ederson's cool and composed passing.

Hoping to find Nicolas Otamendi, Bravo accidentally passed the ball out for a Burnley corner.

City fans on social media were none too impressed.

Ederson this week spoke about his good relationship with his understudy at the Etihad.

"Our relationship is really good," said Ederson. "He [Bravo] helps me a lot every day, I have learnt a lot from him and he respects a lot to me and the rest of our team-mates.

"He works really hard, he gives his best in the training sessions and obviously it is normal to be sad when you are not playing regularly but at the end of the day, it is the manager’s choice.

"We both work really hard and it is the manager’s choice to choose who is going to play. We are both working really hard and always ready to play when we have the chance and give our best to the team."
