Since missing 11 of his team’s 14 December games due to a sprained ankle, it’s safe to say that Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is back to full health. In fact, he’s been nearly unstoppable since he returned. In a 141-128 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on December 30, he dropped 38 points on 13-of-17 shooting, including 10-of-13 from beyond the three point line. On January 3, he scored 32 points on 11-of-19 shooting, knocking down 6-of-13 shots from beyond the arc in a 125-122 win over the Dallas Mavericks. The following night, he recorded 29 points on 10-of-20 shooting, including 4-of-10 from deep as he helped the Warriors take down the Houston Rockets 124-114.On Saturday, he continued his climb in ridiculous fashion, scoring 45 points on 11-of-21 shooting. He went 8-for-16 from three-point range and 15-for-16 from the free throw line. Not only did he help lead Golden State over the Los Angeles Clippers by the score of 121-105, but he didn’t even see the court in the fourth quarter. That’s right. He scored 45 points in three quarters.

Shockingly, he has made a habit of doing that. In fact, no other NBA player has had more three-quarter 45-point games over the last five seasons than Curry.

James Harden’s mark of eight such games is the only one that rivals Curry’s 10. Teammate Klay Thompson and Russell Westbrook are tied for the third-highest mark with just four. It was also the 28th game of Curry’s career in which he scored 40-plus points.

"He's been on fire," Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters after the game. "Maybe the break was good for him. He's been amazing.”

To no one’s surprise, Curry knew that he was in store for a huge game right away.

"I just knew right away when I got free for a couple of 3s in the first quarter and when they went down, I started to get a rhythm," Curry told reporters after the game. "But beyond that, you just keep your head down and keep shooting, keep being aggressive, and that's really it.”

Curry credits the end of his ankle rehabilitation process for the immediate success following his return.

"Honestly, I always feel like I'm hot," Curry explained. "... When I'm out there playing, every shot you take, you feel like it's going in. Coming off of that injury, obviously, I got fresh legs, I got a nice rhythm, I was able to put some good work in a week and a half before I got back on the floor, and that's pretty much it."
