Speaking on the latest episode of the Talk is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho has explained why returning to the WWE anytime soon for a match at WrestleMania isn't the best idea in his mind, which might surprise a lot of WWE fans.

Recently, Jericho had a match against Kenny Omega at New Japan Pro Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 12 in the Tokyo Dome in Japan. He may have lost the match, but Jericho looked rejuvenated and was doing his best wrestling in years, with many regarding the match as an early Match of the Year candidate.

It looks as though Y2J isn't done with NJPW yet either, as the night after Wrestle Kingdom 12 at New Year Dash, Jericho showed up and attacked Los Ingobernables de Japon leader Tetsuya Naito, planting the seeds for a match between the two in the near future.

With him now being involved in another NJPW storyline, it looks like it has ruled out a WWE return for Jericho for the time being as well, especially when you consider too he will be on tour with his band Fozzy when the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 34 take place later this year too.

On the latest episode of Talk is Jericho, The Ayatollah of Rock ‘n’ Rolla explained why returning to the WWE anytime soon for a match at WrestleMania isn't the best idea for him, claiming that at this point of his career he only has plans of pursuing things that interest him the most.

He said the idea of this Alpha vs Omega match is something which has been very interesting to Jericho from the very beginning. Judging by the way which the match turned out, both wrestlers can be very pleased with what they were able to produce.

Y2J also claimed that he could return to WWE for another match at WrestleMania, but he knows for a fact that this match would be part of the middle of the card and not the main event of the show.

He also said unless he's against the likes of Braun Strowman or Brock Lesnar, he will most likely be facing a superstar he has worked with a thousand times before already.

Kudos to Jericho for chasing what he believes is right for his career and hand-picking his matches, rather than just going after the money which WWE offers for him to compete at WrestleMania and put another superstar over inside the squared circle.
