It is yet another historic low for Arsene Wenger. The French manager saw his Arsenal side dumped out of the FA Cup by Championship side Nottingham Forest, the first time the Gunners have exited the competition at the third-round stage under his leadership.Wenger fielded his Europa League team for the fixture and once again, the second string were woeful, with Forest dominating every aspect of the game. One man who will certainly not be breaking into the first team anytime soon is Rob Holding, with the young English defender turning in one of the poorest displays from a Premier League player this season. The former Bolton man gave away the penalty which led to the third goal and was given the runaround by exciting 18-year-old striker Ben Brereton.Throughout the game, Holding was getting a hell of a lot of stick on Twitter and at the full-time whistle, he was on the receiving end of some more negativity. When he approached the away end, the Arsenal man was subjected to some serious abuse from his own fans. A dark day for his young career.

VIDEO: HOLDING ON THE RECEIVING END

Ouch, not good.

The reaction on Twitter wasn't much better either. Might want to stay off social media tonight Rob.

ARSENAL FANS REACT

You have to feel sorry for the young guy, with the experienced duo of Per Mertesacker and Mathieu Debuchy doing little to help him throughout the game.

Wenger and his squad now face a crucial two-game semi-final tie versus Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

Should they lose to their London rivals, even more questions will be asked about this underperforming squad.

WENGER'S GAMBLE BACKFIRES

Wenger's decision to not include Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Alexis Sanchez in the matchday squad against Forest looks laughable now, with the general consensus being that the boss will be forced to play the trio v the Blues.

Troubling times for the red half of north London.
