Manchester City’s new goalkeeper Ederson has been magnificent this season - but have you ever wondered why the 24-year-old has only made one appearance for the Brazilian national team?If so, then we have the answer. Two words: Alisson Becker.No, that isn’t a girl that you used to go to school with. It’s AS Roma’s number one keeper, who has made quite the name for himself since arriving at the Stadio Olimpico from Internacional in 2016.Roma fans understandably feared that they would struggle to replace the impressive Wojciech Szczesny after the Poland international left for Juventus last summer.But they needn’t have worried. Alisson has been every inch as good as - if not better than - the former Arsenal shot-stopper this season.Although Roma currently sit fifth in the Serie A table, they have the second-best defensive record in the Italian top flight this season and Alisson deserves immense credit for that.Roma have conceded 14 goals in 19 league matches this term. Only league-leaders Napoli (13 goals conceded) boast a more impressive record.

Liverpool eyeing up move for Alisson

However, Roma are in serious danger of losing their number one keeper this month, if reports are to be believed.

Liverpool have Alisson firmly on their radar and, after receiving £142 million for the sale of Philippe Coutinho, have money to burn.

Neither Simon Mignolet nor Loris Karius have failed to convince over the past couple of seasons and Liverpool fans are very excited by the prospect of Alisson completing a move to Anfield.
