Philippe Coutinho was presented as a Barcelona player at today’s unveiling at the Camp Nou.

It was the first time Coutinho was seen in a Barcelona kit following his remarkable £145 million move from Liverpool.

Around 6,000 fans turned up to see the Brazilian as he met the media for the first time.

And he made clear just how happy he was to have finally signed for the Spanish giants.

"It was my dream to come here and the opportunity came up. Obviously that's unique and I had to take it,” Coutinho said, per the Independent.

"I have already played in La Liga and I hope to be able to adapt as quickly as possible.

“I'm very lucky to be here.”

Coutinho's shirt number has been revealed

Barcelona fans will have to wait to see Coutinho in action - he’s out for three weeks with a thigh injury - but they’ll already be able to buy their replica shirts after his shirt number was revealed.

Per the Independent, Coutinho has been handed the No. 14 shirt, which is available due to Javier Mascherano’s imminent move to China.

The No. 14 shirt is important at Barça

The No. 14 shirt holds serious significance at the Camp Nou. It was worn by the late Johan Cruyff, who wore the shirt between 1973 and 1978 and scored 48 goals in 142 appearances for the Blaugrana.

“I'd like to thank the president of FC Barcelona, the directors who had so much patience,” Coutinho added at his unveiling.

“I would like to thank Liverpool for the five years I had there and the directors, Mike Gordon who understood what I wanted, my dream, and they tried very hard to convince me to stay.

“To the fans who shared five years with me, thank you."
