Over the last two seasons, Washington Wizards star John Wall has surprisingly been one of the best players in the NBA without a shoe deal. The point guard's previous deal with Adidas expired prior to the 2015-16 season and he has been a free agent in the sneaker world ever since. According to Nick DePaula of ESPN, the major sportswear brand offered him an eight-year, $66 million extension when his contract expired but he turned this down as he deemed the offer unsatisfactory. He has primarily worn Nike or Jordan sneakers on the court since his breakup with Adidas, though he never agreed to an endorsement deal with either of them. But it now appears that Wall has once again committed himself to the brand with the three stripes and has ended his two-year spell without a shoe contract. Shams Charania of The Vertical has reported that the Wizards All-Star and Adidas have agreed on a five-year, endorsement deal.

The terms haven't been released but it's fair to say that he will be earning more than the $8 million per year he was offered during their previous negotiations.

Wall has become the face of the franchise and has been selected to four consecutive All-Star games and has developed into one of the elite point guards in the league.

Speaking in June, the 27-year-old said he banked on himself to have a huge season last year and knew that he would earn a big shoe deal as a result.

"To me, I banked on myself to have a season like this," Wall said, per Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington. "To be honest, I banked on myself. I just feel like somebody is gonna come [asking]. If not, I will still be a sneaker free agent.

"I feel like with the way I'm playing, the type of image I have, the character I have, how I interact with the fans in the community, I think I'm the perfect guy for a signature shoe."

It's been a lucrative couple of months for the All-NBA guard as he also signed a whopping $170 million extension with the Wizards this summer.

With what is sure to be another huge contract with Adidas, it's safe to say that his bets are definitely paying off.

Things may be nice off the court for Wall but he hasn't enjoyed the best of seasons on it as injuries have hampered his campaign so far.

But he's now back to full health and is starting to show his worth for Washington which has seen them slowly climb up the Eastern Conference standings and finally show signs of consistency.
