In the world of professional wrestling, rumors are part of the daily routine, but one rumor in particular surfacing as of late had a lot of WWE fans worried.

Apparently a rumors has been going around on social media indicating that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus was involved in a car accident.

This especially worried fans given that "The Celtic Warrior" is dealing with a bad neck injury that could potentially be career-ending, as it was for WWE Hall Of Famer Edge.

Luckily it turns out that this rumor is just that - a rumor, and there is no truth to it. This comes via a report from Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, calling the reports nothing more than a complete 'hoax.'

Sheamus is a part of one of Monday Night RAW's top tag teams alongside Cesaro, as they form The Bar. The pair have several RAW Tag Team Title reigns under their belts and have feuded with teams such as The Hardy Boyz and The Shield.

They also had a great match-up with SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions The Usos at Survivor Series last year, but ultimately came up short in the bout.

Sheamus and Cesaro recently dropped their Tag Team Titles to the team of Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan, and it's still unclear what the future holds for the titles as of this writing. It has been speculated that WWE could be trying to protect Sheamus due to his injury.

On his personal YouTube channel, Sheamus noted that he has been doing rehab on his neck for the past several months to help with the injury.

WWE Hall Of Famer Edge said this worried him on a recent edition of his podcast, E&C's Pod Of Awesomeness, as it's the same injury that forced him to hang up his wrestling boots for good.

Hopefully everything is okay with Sheamus going forward, as he still has a ton left in the gas tank in regards to his professional wrestling career.
