Barcelona midfielder Alexander Hleb could be on his way back to the Premier League in the summer.

The former Arsenal star, on loan at Bundesliga side Stuttgart, has admitted that he would be open to a move back to the Premier League.

The news has alerted Manchester City and Aston Villa who could reignite their interest in signing the 28-year-old.

Martin O’Neill, who’s side was hammered 7-1 by Chelsea at the weekend, is currently in search of a creative midfielder to lessen the burden put on James Milner since he move into the heart of the Villa midfield.

City boss Roberto Mancini could also be set for a summer spending spree and may target players with previous Champions League experience such as Hleb.

The former Arsenal midfielder has now opened the door for a return to the Premier League saying: “The chances for me to stay at Stuttgart next season are zero.

"Barcelona will decide my future and I am open to any option. But I have shown at Arsenal that I can play in England and enjoy the Premier League."

Hleb has made just 19 appearances for Barcelona since signing for the Spanish side in 2008.
