Coventry striker Clinton Morrison is still hoping to agree a new deal to keep him at the Ricoh Arena.
The leading scorer is out of contract at the end of the season but admits the Sky Blues have a better chance of keeping him if negotiations are concluded soon.
"They want me to sign so they are talking to my agent," Morrison told the Coventry Telegraph. "We are at the advanced stages and we will see how we go."
He added: "I saw the gaffer (Chris Coleman) last week and he just said he wants me to sign and I definitely want it to get wrapped up as soon as possible.
"I definitely want to sign but when you are a free transfer anything could come along at the last minute but not if it gets sorted out quickly because if it does then I'll sign, definitely."
