Theo Walcott, one of the most divisive names in Premier League history.

Pretty much no group of football fans can agree on whether the Englishman has enjoyed a successful career with Arsenal.

For periods of his time with the Gunners, Walcott was pretty electrifying, scoring goals and building a brilliant chemistry with one of the very best Arsene Wenger has ever had, Robin van Persie.

But, there has been a lot of inconsistency, with his serious knee injury in 2014 really stagnating his progression.

Now, in 2018, he is the worst form of his entire career and it seems only a matter of time until Arsenal offload him.

Southampton had been touted with moving for their former player this January, but baulked at his enormous wages - he earns around £110,000-a-week in north London.

There were talks of a loan deal, but Arsenal clearly want him off the books permanently. However, finding a club willing to meet his financial demands was never going to be easy.

BUT, ONE PL CLUB HAS COME OUT OF NOWHERE

Well, think again, because someone has stepped in to offer him an escape route; Everton.

According to the Daily Mail, Sam Allardyce's side are now the frontrunners for his signature as they're prepared to near enough meet his salary demands and will offer around £20m for his services.

The only issue would be if Walcott was against uprooting his family from the south of England, but it would mean him taking a significant pay cut to rejoin the Saints.

A move to Everton just seems a win-win for all parties, with the Toffees in dire need of more goals and pace in attack.

ALEXIS SANCHEZ COULD STOP THE MOVE

The only thing that could prevent him the move if he did want to move to Merseyside would potentially be the Chilean joining Manchester City this month.

Despite Wenger's clear lack of faith in him these days, offloading two attackers without any replacements would be a terrible move.
