Arsenal fans are still reeling from their embarrassing FA Cup exit to Nottingham Forest last weekend, the first time that Arsene Wenger has exited the competition at the third-round stage in his 21 years as manager. The long-serving Frenchman took Forest for granted with a severely understrength side that was made much worse by the fact the 68-year-old had no real reinforcements on the bench. The red half of north London would fall to a 4-2 defeat at the City Ground and Forest found an unlikely hero in American full-back Eric Lichaj as the former Aston Villa man bagged a brace.Lichaj's second goal was a stunning volley from the edge of the area that left Arsenal 'keeper David Ospina stranded, but if Lichaj had scored a hat-trick, his wife said she would finally submit to his demand to buy a dog.I know, exciting news. Lichaj took to Twitter on Monday, asking "anyone who is bored" to send "dog pics, memes, gifs" to his wife and plenty of users joined in using the hashtag #GetEricADog.Teammates Keiran Dowell, Ben Brereton, Zach Clough, Joe Worrall and Matty Cash all had Lichaj's back and sent dog-related videos. Lichaj's wife, Kathryn Lichaj, then tweeted: "Cannot take looking at anymore pictures or videos of dogs."Ok guys, you and @EricLichaj win! I said we will look into it... please no more pictures of dogs!!"On Tuesday night, the 29-year-old defender posted a picture of the couple's new pup, and then trolled Arsenal in the best way possible - they named it Gunner!

Expert troll level indeed. That's a serious commitment to trolling.

Caretaker boss Alan Brazil recently spoke about the pospect of Lichaj securing a new contract given his recent form and it looks like good news.

"He is not a player this club would want to lose. You do not want to lose good players, do you?" Brazil said.

"Whatever age they are, you want to keep good players at a club and secure at the club so that they enable you to push on."
