It’s fair to say Arsene Wenger’s touchline ban isn’t going particularly well.

The Frenchman is serving a three-match ban for his outburst at referee Mike Dean after his side conceded a soft penalty against West Brom on New Year’s Eve.

In his first match in the stands, an under-strength Arsenal side crashed out of the FA Cup at the hands of Nottingham Forest - losing 4-2 to the Championship side.

His second match forbidden from the dugout was the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

But instead of taking his seat in the stands, Wenger - flanked by Jens Lehmann - sat amongst the journalists in the press section at Stamford Bridge as he watched his side earn a 0-0 draw.

Of course, this meant that every time Wenger reacted to what was happening on the pitch it was spotted and heard by the journalists sitting alongside him.

And there was one muttering that came out of Wenger’s mouth that reporters picked up during the match.

“Every time he [Alvaro Morata] goes down it's a f****** free-kick,” Wenger was heard mumbling to himself in the second half, according to the Daily Mail.

Alvaro Morata is suffering something of a confidence crisis at the moment and produced a woeful performance at the Emirates last week as the two sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.

And it seems Wenger wasn’t particularly impressed with the way the Spaniard continuously won his side free-kicks.

But it seems Wenger was more than satisfied with his vantage point during the match, claiming that the journalists are “well treated.”

“I think you are well treated in the stadiums because you have good positions,” said Wenger after the match.

Wenger will have to survive one more match in the stands as Arsenal travel to Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Whether he will be sitting amongst the journalists once again at the Vitality Stadium remains to be seen.
