Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is being linked with a £3 million move for Scottish youngster Danny Wilson.
The 18-year-old defender has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs over the previous month, but now Liverpool have sent scouts to monitor the teenager with a view to a potential summer move.
A product of the Gers' youth system, Wilson captained the successful junior team and was expected to make his debut for the senior side in the 2008-09 season.
He had to wait for his chance though, earning his first appearance for Rangers in the League Cup game against Dundee in October.
The young Scot has earned international recognition at the U17 and U19 levels, but has yet to appear for the Scotland U21 side despite a recent call-up at that level.
Eleven SPL appearances have come the way of Wilson under Walter Smith this season, although two tastes of Champions League football show that Wilson has a big future ahead of him.
Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have also shown an interest in Wilson, but the Scottish Sun has reported that Benitez's side are the one contemplating a move.
