Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy will check on the fitness of Simon Hackney ahead of the home clash with Crewe.
The on-loan Colchester winger sustained a back injury in last weekend's 2-0 victory over Torquay on Saturday.
Neil Wainwright and Wayne Curtis are possible replacements for the former Carlisle player.
Defender Will Haining is also likely to be missing with a groin injury that reduced him to the sidelines against Torquay, so Dave Artell looks set to deputise again.
Striker Aaron Taylor, defender Henry McStay and midfielder Ian Craney remain long-term absentees but McIlroy has no other major concerns.
