Joey Barton has launched a scathing rant directed at Antonio Conte following his treatment of out-of-form striker, Alvaro Morata.
Following the dispute between Conte and Diego Costa, it was apparent that the Blues would make a move for a striker in the summer transfer window, with Romelu Lukaku strongly linked with a return to his former club.
However, the Belgian would not make his return to Stamford Bridge. Instead, Chelsea signed Morata from Real Madrid for £60 million.
It looked as if that transfer would turn out to be a masterstroke from Conte, with the striker impressing in his first few months at the club.
However, the Spaniard's form has suffered a huge dip in recent times, and with two goals from his last nine games, it is apparent he is undergoing a huge crisis of confidence in front of goal.
JOEY BARTON BLAMES CONTE FOR HIS BEHAVIOUR ON THE SIDELINES
Conte is known for expressing his emotions on the sidelines, and Barton has claimed that the Italian's behaviour is having a negative impact on Morata's performances.
"Morata, who I think is an incredible player, is having a tough time at the minute, missing a couple of chances," Barton said on TalkSport.
"But you look to the touchline and there’s soft lad Conte banging the floor, throwing himself around and jumping into the crowd.
"I agree with Mourinho a little bit – behave yourself.
"Maybe celebrate goals but when your player’s missing a chance, the last thing you want to see on the telly is your manager slamming the floor and acting like a petulant child."
CHELSEA FANS ARE FURIOUS WITH BARTON
Barton is known for speaking his mind, and his controversial opinions that often brings about a negative reaction from football fans.
And that is again the case, with Chelsea fans absolutely furious at Barton for making this suggestion about Conte: particularly due to his reputation as a player.
BUT DOES BARTON HAVE A POINT?
Chelsea fans may be outraged by Barton's comments, but it could be argued he has raised a good point.
Morata is clearly struggling in front of goal, and Conte's animated reactions to his missed chances are certainly not helping his confidence.
