Earlier this week, TMZ Sports published a story about Triple H and Ronda Rousey having dinner together, which added fuel to the rumor that the former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion would be making the switch from MMA to the WWE very soon.

TMZ cameras spotted The Game having dinner with Rowdy and her agent on Tuesday night at the Republique restaurant in Los Angeles. Ronda was asked about the nature of the meeting but didn’t comment.

Many people believe as well that the way which WWE could introduce Rousey to the WWE is by having her enter the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on January 28 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia as a surprise entrant.

Some even believe she could go on to win the Women's Royal Rumble match, setting her up for either a match against Raw Women's Champion Alexa Bliss or SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

While many believe they already know Rousey's booking direction for when she does arrive in the WWE, the reason why she met with Triple H on Tuesday night for dinner is unclear. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided the reason why this meeting took place.

According to Meltzer, via IWNerd, the belief is that this was a planted story and it was likely not just a coincidence that they were spotted together and the story was picked up, meaning WWE wanted TMZ and other news outlets to pick up the story.

The reason why would they do this is to generate some buzz in the media before Rousey appears in the WWE. If WWE wanted to keep the UFC star's involvement with the company a secret, they wouldn’t have had dinner together in a public restaurant in Los Angeles.

Meltzer says that WWE wouldn’t have shot the angles with Rousey last summer during the Mae Young Classic if there wasn’t an understanding in place that they would be doing business together in the future.

We'll have to wait and see what happens but at the moment, all the signs are pointing towards Rousey making an appearance for the WWE in the very near future.
