The wrestling industry has completely changed from the glory days of the Attitude Era, that saw the business have its most successful time period about 20 years ago during the Attitude Era.

That time period saw stars such as The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, and so many more take over the professional wrestling world with their over-the-top personalities and no holds barred attitudes. The WWE also had competition over in WCW that featured stars such as Goldberg, Hulk Hogan, Sting, the NWO, and more.

After WWE bought out WCW, however, the business started to slowly spiral down now that nobody was pushing WWE to write the very best television that they could. Nowadays mid-card talents aren't cared about as much as they used to.

In the days of the Attitude Era talents such as X-Pac, Al Snow, Goldust, and more were still getting over with wrestling fans, despite not being in the WWE World Title picture. Today that's no longer the case a pops are becoming harder and harder to come by.

Al Snow recently joined Stone Cold's podcast, The Steve Austin Show, to talk about today's industry of professional wrestling.

The former Hardcore Champion went off on how WWE now dictates the style of professional wrestling today (quotes via 411 Mania):

“The style now is dictated by WWE. Everybody kind of now adopts and follows that style.

"Psychologically, everybody is making the same mistake and that is they’ve gotten so far away from the very simple concept of what we are actually selling.

"Everybody gives you the old, ‘oh, wrestling has changed’ [line] and I couldn’t disagree more because that’s bulls–t.

"Excuse me. But because they tell you it [has] changed, and they use it as an excuse or justification for lazy psychology or lackadaisical work.

"They think ‘working’ is your physical ability or athletic ability when that has nothing to do with it.”
