Ten-man Morecambe produced a stunning late comeback to clinch a thrilling 4-3 home victory over Crewe.

Alex looked set for all three points at 3-1 up when Shrimps defender Andy Parrish was sent off in the 71st minute. But Sammy McIllroy`s side scored three goals in the final four minutes to snatch the win and move to within two points of a play-off spot.

Crewe were 2-0 ahead after half-an-hour courtesy of Joel Grant`s low shot and a rising close-range effort from Shaun Miller.

Phil Jevons pulled a goal back for Morecambe in the 53rd minute but Clayton Donaldson restored Crewe`s two-goal advantage 10 minutes later with an 18-yard drive.

Parrish saw red and the game looked over. Miller had the chance to make sure it was but Barry Roche saved his penalty after Simon Hackney had handled the ball.

It proved a costly miss as Wayne Curtis` header gave the hosts hope in the 87th minute and then Paul Mullin headed home an equaliser in the 90th minute.

Dave Artell then headed an unlikely winner four minutes into injury time to complete an amazing turnaround.
