Paige's return to the WWE following neck surgery last year was cut short at a WWE live event last month, and reports in the last week have speculated she won't be cleared by the company to return to the ring again, bringing an end to her active wrestling career in WWE.

Paige has been out of action since she was injured during a six-woman tag team match of Absolution members of herself, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville vs Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Mickie James at a WWE live event at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island last month.

During the match, The Raven-Haired Renegade went down hard after suffering a stinger when she was kicked in the back of her neck by The Boss. She attempted to get up, but fell back down quickly and the match was stopped. She has not competed in the ring since this night.

Many believed Paige would just be out for a couple of weeks and would be cleared in time to compete in the Women's Royal Rumble match on January 28. However, recent reports have stated her head injury is said to be worse than originally thought, and that WWE will not clear her to compete in the ring again, meaning her active wrestling career in the WWE is over.

Paige had only recently returned to the WWE last November after missing most of 2017 after having neck surgery in October 2016. Her return as The Leader of Absolution was going well until she reinjured her neck again at the live event.

Speaking last month on the Lillian Garcia Podcast, via Heel By Nature, The Raven-Haired Renegade said that doctors didn't want her to Paige to compete in the ring again following her neck surgery which caused her to miss most of last year.

Listen to the audio clip below of Paige explaining to Garcia about what her doctor said to her following her surgery.

Although Paige was cleared to compete by WWE, her doctor didn't want her wrestling anymore. However, as we know, she went against doctor's orders and competed in the WWE once more, but it now looks like she won't be competing in the ring for the company ever again.

Neither Paige or the WWE have confirmed her wrestling career is over, but it doesn't look promising. The Leader of Absolution did state on her Instagram story yesterday that she will be at Monday Night Raw tonight in San Antonio, Texas, so hopefully we'll receive some more news on Paige's in-ring future then.
