This January transfer window has been one of the craziest already and we're barely halfway through the month.Liverpool have seen a superstar leave in the shape of Philippe Coutinho for £145 million, but they have also secured a long-awaited defender in Virgil Van Dijk for £75 million. Now, all eyes are on Arsenal and Alexis Sanchez. It emerged on Monday night as Manchester United were thumping Stoke 3-0 at Old Trafford that close rivals Manchester City had pulled out of the race to sign the Chilean.Sanchez, 29, will be able to leave the club for free in the summer following the expiration of his contract and it had seemed like the Etihad Stadium was his most likely next destination.A reunion with Pep Guardiola, a man that managed him during his time with Barcelona, made perfect sense. However, Guardiola and City chiefs have since decided the deal for Sanchez is far too expensive and Man United's offer is said to be worth more than the £60 million City offered last summer.Yes, even City are saying it's too much money! That leaves Manchester United in the driving seat with a £25 million deal plus Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the table, but multiple reports have suggested Chelsea have made a late bid.A bidding war was just what Arsenal must have wanted at this point and it seems as though Arsene Wenger is fully prepared to reinvest in his squad in the same window.According to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is on the verge of completing a €60 million deal to join the red-half of north London. The 28-year-old forward would add some immediate firepower to the Gunners frontline and his searing pace would bring another welcome dimension. Balague notes that Aubameyang wants the move and Arsenal are optimistic.

Sources close to Dortmund believe Aubameyang - who has 21 goals in 24 games this season - will leave the club in the coming days after being left out of the match against Wolfsburg for disciplinary reasons.

Arsenal's new head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, who helped to sign the striker for Borussia Dortmund in 2013, made the recommendation to Wenger.

On top of that deal, according to The Telegraph, Arsenal are close to pulling the trigger on a move for Bordeaux's 20-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Malcom. The flying winger has been lighting up Ligue 1 this season with his stunning strikes and his agents were in London over the weekend to tie up the deal.
