Not many Premier League fans will have known Brazilian wonder-kid Malcom prior to the January transfer window, but they sure do now.

The Bordeaux winger has been the talk of the town ever since it was made abundantly clear that Alexis Sanchez was leaving Arsenal, with the Gunners marking the South American starlet as his potential replacement.

Malcom has been one of the stars of Ligue 1 this season, with the 20-year-old scoring seven times and assisting five others in just 19 appearances.

What is more, most of his strikes have absolute stunners.

It will likely cost Arsenal around £45m to get the French club to sell, with reports suggesting that Bordeaux would ask for their young talisman back on loan for the rest of the season.

The club's manager, Jocelyn Gourvennec, has been coy on the saga but now, he may have just dropped something that will worry Arsenal fans, because he's brought Liverpool into the mix.

LIVERPOOL IN FOR MALCOM?

“I can’t deny that he’s being followed by a lot of people,” he said. “With Malcom, I go from day-to-day.

“He’s committed. He’s a bit like he was in the summer - I wouldn’t say he has been disturbed by it, that’s a bit strong, he’s not disturbed, but he is asking questions.

“He’s asking himself what’s the best thing for him, for his future. That’s logical. If he’s asking questions and he still manages to make assists or score goals, it’ll be fine.

“If Liverpool want you to work for them tomorrow, you’d go.

“I’m a coach, I’d like to be able to count on Malcom, Malcom has to help us.

“There is one person who decides in this, that’s the majority shareholder. He talked about this at the weekend, but football remains football.”

That's an odd thing to say, right?

With Liverpool knowingly in the market for a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho, Jurgen Klopp may be tempted to launch a bid for Malcom, with the boss seemingly not standing in his way.
