It has been a long past few months for WWE Superstar Paige, and earlier this month it got exceedingly worse.

Paige has been a huge staple in the WWE's Women's Revolution for quite some time. She was the first ever NXT Women's Champion and made her main roster debut the night after WrestleMania 30 in a huge way.

She challenged then-WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee to a bout for the strap, and won it her first night on the main roster against one of the most accomplished in-ring competitors the women's division has ever seen.

Paige would go on to win the Divas Title a total of two times throughout her WWE career and unfortunately suffered string of issues that kept her out of the ring for quite some time.

After a pair of failed Wellness Policy violations, a bad neck injury, a toxic relationship with former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio, and some leaked private videos and photos of herself going viral online, Paige has just received the worse news any professional wrestler could ever hear.

Following a scary incident at a WWE live event a few weeks ago after taking a double kick to the back from Sasha Banks, Paige has been informed that she will not be cleared to compete by WWE doctors - thus ending her in-ring career with the company.

WWE hasn't officially announced that her career inside the ring is over, and neither has Paige, however, it has been announced that due to her neck injury she will be unable to compete in the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble match later this year.

Paige recently took to Twitter earlier today (Tues. January 16, 2018) to send out a rather cryptic Tweet regarding her career, saying that 2018 is going to be her year.

This comes as a bit of an odd statement given reports that her career inside the ring is over:

What are your thoughts on Paige's Tweet amidst rumors that she's retiring from professional wrestling due to a neck injury? Do you think that we'll ever see Paige inside a WWE ring as a competitor again? And what did you take away from her Tweet saying that 2018 will be her year? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
