Jordan Rhodes grabbed his 21st goal of the season as Huddersfield enhanced their play-off hopes with a 2-1 win over Wycombe, who appear doomed to relegation.
Rhodes opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, his third goal in as many games, before Theo Robinson added a second after the break.
Dean Keates pulled one back with a 73rd minute header but the Chairboys were unable to avoid a first defeat in five games.
Things had looked bright for Wycombe when John Mousinho went close after two minutes.
But Mousinho's effort stirred the visitors into life and Rhodes put the Terriers ahead with an overhead kick from close range.
The visitors nearly doubled their lead 10 minutes before the interval but Preston loanee Neal Trotman's header came back off the bar.
Any dreams of a Chairboys fightback were scuppered just seven minutes after the restart when Theo Robinson fired past Tom Heaton following an impressive mazy run.
Substitute Jon-Paul Pittman beat three players before setting up the diminutive Keates for a consolation but it was too little too late for Wycombe.
