Anthony Davis proved to be an invaluable asset once again as he scored 45 and grabbed 16 rebounds to see the New Orleans Pelicans edge past the Boston Celtics 116-113 in overtime.

After scoring 48 to see the Pelicans beat the New York Knicks 123-118 in OT on Sunday, Davis scored four in the extra period that was triggered by Celtics’ surge in the final minutes of regulation.

Kyrie Irving scored 27 and Al Horford had 14, although their efforts were not enough to get Boston what would have been their eighth straight win.

Meanwhile Orlando Magic ended a seven-game skid with a 108-102 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Evan Fournier hit a career-high 32 points, while a fourth-quarter blitz by DJ Augustin saw him score 11 of Magic’s 35 to lift them out of the visitors’ reach.

Portland Trail Blazers won their first game in four by beating the Phoenix Suns 118-111, who lost out despite Devin Booker scoring 43.

In Denver, the Nuggets beat the Dallas Mavericks 105-102 after opening up a 23-point lead in the third period.
