Hartlepool director of sport Chris Turner looks set to name an unchanged starting XI when his side host Brighton.

Pools boosted their survival hopes with a 3-1 win over fellow strugglers Leyton Orient on Saturday and Turner is expected to stick with the players who impressed at Brisbane Road.

Should he decide to freshen things up, both James Brown and Peter Hartley are pushing for recalls after starring for the reserves in midweek.

Adam Boyd, Ritchie Jones and Antony Sweeney are also waiting in the wings ahead of Pools' second game in 48 hours.

Saturday`s result moved Hartlepool up to 18th in Coca-Cola League One, but they are just two points ahead of the drop zone with seven games of the season remaining.

Brighton will be without Glenn Murray for the trip.

The striker picked up his 10th booking of the season in Thursday's 2-2 draw with Southampton and now faces a two-match ban.

Manager Gus Poyet has already admitted that he would be more than happy to slot Ashley Barnes straight into the side. The Plymouth loanee has come off the bench to score two goals in two games since joining the Seagulls.

On-loan Swansea defender Marcos Painter was stretchered off with a knee injury in stoppage time against the Saints and will play no part, although the extent of the damage remains unclear.

Inigo Calderon or Adam El-Abd could switch to left-back in Painter's absence.

Poyet's men will be looking to continue their push up the League One table by extending their four-match unbeaten run.
