Arsenal fans may have mixed feelings about allowing Alexis Sanchez to join Manchester United, but they're due to get a fantastic player in return.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has struggled under Jose Mourinho, there's no two ways about it, but it's important to remember just how good he was at Borussia Dortmund.
In his final season at the Westfalenstadion, the Armenian bagged a staggering 11 goals and 15 assists in the Bundesliga alone. He's an attacking midfielder.
And who knows, as of when Mkhitaryan does complete his move to Arsenal, he may well be joined by former teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang has reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal following Theo Walcott's £20 million move to Everton.
A few concerns have been raised about Mkhitaryan's potential move to the Emirates Stadium, though, such as how he apparently isn't keen on joining.
But according to the Independent's Miguel Delaney yesterday, the general feeling has changed and Mkhitaryan is "quite likely" to sign.
Well now there has been another update and it's nothing but good news for Arsenal.
John Cross of the Mirror claims Mkhitaryan has now decided he does want to leave United for Arsenal - but only if he gets a pay rise.
The 29-year-old is currently on £150,000-per-week at United but wants closer to £200,000-per-week to join the Gunners.
And it would seem Arsene Wenger is prepared to meet those demands. Ahead of the weekend's action, the Frenchman said: "I like the player (Mkhitaryan). Wages will not be a problem."
Wenger was also asked about the rumours of Aubameyang joining from Dortmund, but the Arsenal manager remained typically tight lipped.
"No I have nothing to add to that. This kind of thing is better when it's secret," said Wenger. "You announce it when it's over the line. Nothing else [other than Sanchez] is close."
