There will be one WWE Hall of Famer that won’t be appearing on Raw.

That WWE Legend is former WWE Champion Bret Hart. Hart gained success in the professional wrestling business throughout the 1980s and 1990s in the WWE where he helmed The Hart Foundation faction.

He left the sports entertainment company for World Championship Wrestling following the controversial "Montreal Screwjob" in November 1997 where he remained until October 2000.

It doesn’t matter if you are an old school or a new era fan, this incident has been well documented by WWE and its WWE Chairman.

The situation involved McMahon, WWE Hall of Famers Hart and Shawn Michaels at the 1997 Survivor Series, which took place at the Molson Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The incident happened when McMahon did a "shoot screwjob" without Hart's knowledge and resulted in Hart.

The reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion lost the title to Michaels in Hart's last match with the WWE before departing for rival promotion World Championship Wrestling.

The plan was executed when match referee Earl Hebner, on direct order from McMahon, ended the match as Michaels held Hart in the Sharpshooter submission hold even though Hart had not submitted.

Michaels was declared the victor by submission and crowned as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Hart, Michaels, and McMahon came to an agreement where the match would end with a disqualification, which under normal rules would result in Hart retaining the title.

Hart would then lose or forfeit the title at a later date. Obviously, this didn’t happen.

He officially retired in October 200, shortly after his departure from the company. He returned to sporadic in-ring competition from 2010–2011 where headlined the 2010 SummerSlam event, and served as the general manager of Raw.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the reason Hart isn’t appearing on Raw 25 is due to him meeting with a surgeon from France around that date to go over another wrist surgery.

The 25 Anniversary episode of Monday Night Raw is scheduled to take place January 22nd, 2018 in Brooklyn, NY at the Barclays Center and the Manhattan Center.
