The Cleveland Cavaliers finally snapped their losing streak and got themselves back on track in the Eastern Conference, but it surprisingly wasn't down to the performances of their star player LeBron James. The Cavaliers won for the first time in four games after achieving a narrow 104-103 win against the Orlando Magic on Thursday night at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland despite leading by 20 points at half time.Isaiah Thomas led the way for Cleveland with 21 points alongside three rebounds, four assists, two steals, but he only made 6-of-15 from the field. He was the best performer on the court on the night, as James only scored 16 points with five rebounds, six assists, one steal, but he only made 7-of-16 from the field.James also struggled from the free-throw line as he scored two from eight on the night. Nevertheless, he was still happy on Twitter after the win despite his performance as his Cleveland teammates have helped the team now sit third in the Eastern Conference. He said: "Man was I garbage tonight! ð¤¢ð©ð¤®ð·!!!! Thank God for teammates. Appreciate it fellas âð¾ðð¾#StriveForGreatnessð"
James now needs another 25 points to become the seventh player in NBA history to reach 30,000. He'll likely reach this goal on Saturday when Cleveland hosts the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Cavaliers star said to reporters after the game, according to ESPN: "Right now we're in Strugglesville. But it felt like a win. We needed it. Definitely."
He continued: "Obviously we know we've been struggling as of late. We're just trying to figure out how we can put two halves together. Obviously we had a great first half on Monday (against Golden State), great first half today and the same result. So we've got to keep pushing, keep watching film and seeing ways we can be better."
Before the game, James was also chosen as one of the captains for this year's All-Star game after receiving the most votes in balloting by fans, players, and media. This will be his 14th straight All-Star start, one behind Kobe Bryant's record.
He will have the first choice from a pool of selected players, from both the Eastern and Western Conference which will include former Cavs teammate Kyrie Irving.
