Diniyar Bilyaletdinov claims Everton can win all five of their remaining games to qualify for Europe.
Everton suffered a setback in their bid to catch the likes of Liverpool and Aston Villa as they were held 2-2 by West Ham which left them in eighth - five points behind sixth-placed Liverpool and four adrift of Villa, who have a game in hand.
Next week's trip to Villa now takes on huge significance and Bilyaletdinov believes nothing but victory will be good enough and said: "We need five more wins and maybe we will still have a chance. Villa is doubly important. We need to win. We need to play at our top level, and I think we will be fine."
He added: "We need to believe that and I think we can do it because we have got such good players.
"We now need some days for resting and sitting at home watching TV, then we can start anew preparing for the Aston Villa game. We need to think and believe about European football.
"I don't even want think about not making it. I am sure we can do it."
Bilyaletdinov was sent off after scoring against Villa earlier in the season and he was again on target to hand Everton the initiative against the Hammers.
Bilyaletdinov said: "I scored a goal but I am not happy because it is still one point. It is not good.
"It was not a good enough finish to the game. The mistake after scoring the second goal was terrible but this is football, it is life.
"We were not good enough moving. Maybe this form should be better to get results. We need to score more at Villa."
