On Thursday, the 2018 NBA All-Star game captains and starters were revealed with five players from both the Western Conference and the Eastern Conference being selected for the game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles next month.Golden State Warriors' Steph Curry received the most votes in the Western Conference, while Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James received the most votes in the Eastern Conference. These two will be our team captains for the All-Star game on February 18.Curry and James will pick their teams from the pool of starters and reserves. Reserves will be selected by NBA head coaches and announced next Tuesday, and the full team rosters will be announced January 25.However, despite a lot of fans wanting it, the draft which Curry and James will undertake to select their All-Star teams will not be televised, and the Warriors star is glad it won't be shown.Speaking to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the point guard said he's glad the draft isn't being televised because he doesn't want one player being subjected to abuse online for being picked last.

He said: "My only thing with making it live - with the way social media is now & how everything is hyped up - there's potential for those last 2-4 picks to be ridiculed. At the end of the day, they're All-Stars. I don't want to put anyone in that situation.

"Obviously, somebody has to be picked last if you're doing it that way, but it doesn't necessarily mean you're less than the rest of the guys. But that's the one thing you want to be sensitive toward - one meme comes out, one GIF or whatever it's called, and you're trying to make fun of an NBA All-Star? That's one thing I want to make sure doesn't happen."

As for who he would like to have on his team, Curry has said Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo in order to avoid being dunked on again. He said: "I don't know who the reserves are going to be so I gotta pick from the starters. Giannis ... he dunked on me last year. May have to get him on my team so that doesn't happen again."

For starters from the East, Curry and James can choose from Giannis, 76ers' Joel Embiid, Celtics' Kyrie Irving, and  Raptors' DeMar DeRozan, while from the West, they can pick from Rockets' James Harden, Warriors' Kevin Durant, and Pelicans teammates Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins.
