The name Tyson Fury is one which leaves the boxing world divided. He’s like Mr. Marmite – some love him, some hate him.

He beat Wladimir Klitschko to become the world heavyweight champion back in 2015 before having his licence suspended in 2016 for positive testing of a banned steroid.

He also admitted to using cocaine and he fell quicker than a rookie would against Anthony Joshua. He piled on weight and just sat in the shadows whilst the boxing world continued.

But, despite his controversies in recent years, Tyson Fury has been offered a second chance by the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBC). The BBBC have agreed to restore Fury’s heavyweight licence if he passes a medical.

This in turn means that Fury might be able to pursuit his ambition of an all-British clash against the other man famous for beating Klitschko – current WBA champion Anthony Joshua.

Of course, his chance to face the heavyweight champion won’t come straight away. He’ll need to face someone else first to increase his ranking. He will need to be within the top 15 fighters in Joshua’s division to be able to compete for his title.

Well his prayers may have been answered already, as Frenchman Johann Duhaupas has put his name forward to fight Fury in his comeback fight.

What makes it an even sweeter deal is that Duhaupas is willing to put his WBA International belt on the line too.

"Tyson Fury is looking for an opponent so why not Johann Duhaupas? The spectators could see England versus France - like a rugby match - and this fight will be the huge as it has the WBA International title on the line," the Frenchman's manager exclusively told World Boxing News.

"We have the TV coverage in France so we know this will be a big event," he added.

All the two boxers need to do now is agree terms.

But, even if Fury’s licence is reinstated and he agrees conditions with the French champ, Duhaupas’ manager Mehdi Ameur is confident that his fighter won’t have any problems.

“Tyson doesn’t have the power to knock down Duhaupas.”

He then added: “The winner can then go on to face Anthony Joshua.”

If Fury is allowed back into the ring following his medical, boxing fans will be sure he will help put on a good show against Duhaupas, and should he be successful, he will have proved himself, as his future opponent Anthony Joshua has asked him to.

Fury has already lost four stone, according to Greg Marriott, a sports nutritionist and looks well on his way to getting back to full fitness. It won’t be long before we see him in the ring again, subject to his medical.

Elsewhere, Anthony Joshua will face WBO Champion Joseph Parker in a unification fight in March.
