Real Madrid may have returned to form with a 7-1 victory over Deportivo on Sunday, but La Liga leaders Barcelona made a statement of their own.Barca recorded a 5-0 win away to Betis that saw them move 11 points clear at the top of La Liga.Of course, the two games brought back the never-ending debate of who is better: Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. We say brought back, that argument never goes away.Ronaldo scored a brace to take his La Liga tally to six for the season in what has been a very disappointing campaign thus far. Messi, on the other hand, also netted a brace, but his tally stands at 19 goals in Spain's top-flight this term. The Argentine legend also laid Luis Saurez on a plate to secure his own brace, but a moment late in the second half in his own half, no less, saw Messi applauded by the Betis fans.Watch the clip below as the majestic Messi just embarrasses three Betis players like it's nothing:

Gary Lineker couldn't resist the opportunity to laud over Messi following the divine moment of skill and, as you'd expect, he was straight on Twitter.

Last week, Argentine teammate and former Real Madrid man Angel Di Maria said that the case was closed, Messi is already the greatest player to ever play the game.

"Messi is already the greatest,” added Di Maria, who has also turned out for Real Madrid and Manchester United. "Winning the World Cup would validate him, but he is already the best. Hopefully, football will give Messi this World Cup – it would be good for everyone.

"Messi has achieved everything in his career – the only thing missing is a World Cup. Obviously, as an Argentine and a team-mate of his, I would love for it to happen in Russia."

At 30-years-old, it seems he has a lot of time left to show everyone just how great he is.
