As expected, LeBron James and Stephen Curry were the leading vote-getters in their respective conferences and have been named as the All-Star captains for this year's game. Both James and Curry will select from a pool of All-Star players in a new draft format which is part of the league's revamp to try and spice things up.As the player with the most votes, LBJ will get the first pick but he chose to remain coy on who he plans to choose as he told reporters: "I'm not telling you."He was only willing to reveal that he is “going to try to build the best team I can” and “I’m trying to win.”Curry, on the other hand, is looking to take a different approach and is hoping to have fun with it by possibly trying out something different."I don’t know who LeBron will take with the first pick, but depending on how that goes, I may just have to go pick all guards, get the shortest team possible, have some fun with it. But who knows how it’ll play out," he said, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic. But the point guard is almost certain to take Golden State Warriors teammate and fellow starter Kevin Durant, that's if his Cleveland Cavaliers counterpart doesn't take him first, of course. The two-time MVP does have plans to select one specific player, however, and he provided an interesting reason why. When asked if there's one random guy he'd like to play with outside of his teammates and LeBron, Curry said: "Don’t know who the reserves are going to be, so I have to pick from the starters."Giannis (Antetokounmpo). He dunked on me last year, so I want to maybe get him on my team so that doesn’t happen again."In the 2017 All-Star Game in New Orleans, the Milwaukee Bucks superstar soared over Steph to throw dunk an aggressive dunk. But it's important to point out that Curry was laid on the floor and took cover to avoid being posterised by the Greek Freak. The Warriors star did eventually end up on a Giannis poster, though, as the lengthy Bucks man threw down a ridiculous putback dunk on him, which drew stunned reactions from his Western Conference teammates.

There are, of course, so many other reasons to take Antetokounmpo as he's having a phenomenal season and has established himself as one of the best players in the NBA.

The All-Star reserves will be revealed on Thursday and LeBron and Curry will find out who they can choose from.

But with commissioner Adam Silver confirming that the draft will not be televised, it has taken some of the intrigue away from the occasion.
