It is a matter of 'when' not 'if' Alexis Sanchez secures a move to Manchester United now, with the Chilean forward already agreeing a ludicrous contract with the Red Devils.

Jose Mourinho's side picked up on his desire to leave Arsenal and with Manchester City unwilling to meet his lofty financial demands, the Red Devils decided to swoop in and take advantage.

Pep Guardiola didn't want to disrupt the dressing room by offering Sanchez around £500,000-a-week, a figure which doubles the amount earned by City's top players.

It will put the 29-year-old into a similar bracket as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.

So, with Sanchez being the top earner in the Premier League, who are the other nine? Well, the Mirror have kindly provided the details and a lot of the division's best miss out.

10. ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE (£170k)

That's right. The Frenchman is currently the highest paid player at Arsenal after his £52m arrival.

9. VIRGIL VAN DIJK (£180k)

Liverpool's £75m January arrival shot straight to the top of their earning list, commanding the highest wages of any defender in the league.

8. DAVID DE GEA (£200k)

Manchester United's wall commands an enormous pay packet for a goalkeeper, but when you see his performances week in week out, he's certainly worth it.

7. CESC FABREGAS (£220k)

One of the bigger shocks on the list. Fabregas is certainly a talent, but to command the seventh highest salary may be a bit far.

6. EDEN HAZARD (£220k)

Surely Hazard is worth more than Fabregas? Well, if he does agree a contract extension, he will likely shoot way up the list and rightly so.

5. SERGIO AGUERO (£220k)

Amazingly, Manchester City only have one name in the top 10. However, with Guardiola hell-bent on renewing contracts, you feel Aguero will have company from his colleagues soon.

4. ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC (£220k)

Really? Yeah, United decided to offer that amount of money to a 36-year-old recovering from a horrific injury. Madness.

3. ROMELU LUKAKU (£250k)

United dominate the latter stages of the list, with Lukaku signing an enormous deal after arriving from Everton in the summer. A few might say he's not met that value...

2. PAUL POGBA (£290k)

The Frenchman is now the runner-up and according to reports, he has asked that his wages be bumped up closer to Sanchez. Awkward.

1. SANCHEZ (£500k)

Here he is at number one.

So, no Harry Kane, Kevin De Bruyne, Mesut Ozil, Mohamed Salah or Raheem Sterling, yet. You get the feeling that may change sooner rather than later.
